Frequently Asked Questions About Mobile SMART Repairs in Suffolk

Yes. Our fully equipped mobile workshop lets us complete SMART repairs on your driveway or office car park. Once you send photos, we confirm the job, arrive promptly at the booked time, erect a small gazebo if required, and finish most scratches, scuffs or chips within two to three hours. There is no need to drop the vehicle off or arrange alternative transport, saving you precious time and eliminating the hassle of visiting a body shop.

Most appointments last between one to three hours, depending on the size and position of the damage. A small bumper scuff can be finished in around ninety minutes, while deeper scratches that need minor filling or multiple panels may stretch towards the three-hour mark. Because the paint is cured with infrared lamps, you can drive the vehicle as soon as we pack up, with no overnight drying or return visit required.

Absolutely. We mix every colour on site using your vehicle’s manufacturer paint code and a computerised scheme with thousands of formulations. The shade is then fine-tuned by eye to compensate for ageing or previous repairs, ensuring a seamless blend into adjoining panels. Our spray guns apply multiple light coats before a professional lacquer layer, so once polished the repaired area is virtually invisible, even under bright sunlight or showroom lighting. In some cases, with special effect colours, we will need to blend in to the adjacent panel – but we will advise at the time of quoting if this may be required.

SMART repairs are designed for localised cosmetic damage. If a panel is heavily dented, torn, rusted through or the paint is cracked across a wide area, a traditional body shop replacement or full respray may be more appropriate. We will ask for photos before booking and give honest advice; if we believe the finish will not meet our standards, we will not proceed or charge.

Yes, every Smartway Paint Ltd repair carries a lifetime ownership guarantee covering adhesion, peeling, cracking and excessive fading. We use the same automotive-grade paints and clearcoats specified by leading manufacturers, apply them in controlled layers, and cure with industry-standard infrared technology. If you experience any issue related to our workmanship while you own the vehicle, we will return to inspect and, if necessary, rectify the problem free of charge.

Light rain or wind rarely stops us. Our van carries a heavy-duty, pop-up gazebo with sidewalls that creates a dry, sheltered spray booth within minutes. For safety and finish quality, we only postpone if conditions are extreme—torrential rain, high gusts or sub-zero temperatures that prevent proper curing. Should that happen, we will contact you promptly to arrange the next convenient date, keeping your schedule and our standards intact.

Prices depend on the size, location and severity of the damage, but most SMART repairs fall between £95 and £350. Because we repair only the damaged area, you avoid the higher material and labour charges of a body shop respray. Send us three clear photos of the damage and one taken further back for scale, along with your name and postcode, and we will provide a fixed, written quote with no hidden extras.

Yes, we regularly help customers avoid end-of-lease penalty charges by restoring paintwork to manufacturer standards. Because our repairs are localised and undetectable, inspectors cannot tell that a bumper corner or door edge was ever scratched. We can usually book the work within a three week period of your enquiry. Please allow plenty of time before the hand-back date. Provide the finance company’s damage guidelines and we will ensure the vehicle meets them.

For your convenience we carry a secure mobile card terminal that accepts all major debit and credit cards, and contactless payments. You may also pay by bank transfer on completion; we will issue a written invoice on completion and we can also email an invoice if requested. Cash is accepted too, although we do not carry large amounts of change, so please advise us beforehand if you prefer this option.

Simply snap three well-lit photos of the damage from different angles, as well as a wider shot for scale, and text, WhatsApp or email them to 07745 522376 or smartwaypaint@gmail.com with your name and postcode. We will assess the images, calculate the paint and labour required, and reply within 24 hours with a guaranteed price. If our quote is accepted, we’ll offer you the next available appointment.
